- According to Lowrey family information, Catherine Wirt Tilley was born 28 Dec 1806 in Bladensburg, Prince George's Co Maryland. P G County surrounds the District of Columbia. Catherine died in the late 1880s in Wewoka, Indian Territory, which later became Hughes, County, Arkansas.
Catherine Wirt Tilley married Henry Lowry in on 11 Dec 1838 in the Presbyterian Church in Ft Wayne, Indiana. She and Henry lived in Williamsport, Warren County, Indiana. These and other details are reported in a genealogy prepared by their daughter Octavia, delivered to me through family channels.
In 1860 we see them in White County, Indiana. Their son John Tilley, a medical studen, is the only child still in their home.

Family sources tell us Catherine's husband Henry died on 19 August 1862. In the 1870 census, we find that she and her son John Tilley Lowrey have moved to Pike County, Indiana, where he is now working as a Physician.
