- I have not determined defintely Elva Jean's birth date. The 1900 census reprots the date of April 1860, genealogies generally report the year of 1861, which seems to fit better with other census ages.

Someone has transcribed a portion of the Kaufman County Marriage record to give us the entries for Elva Jean and other members of her family. This transcriber gives us additionally Elva's middle name, which is attested in the census only as Elva J and the marriage record also has her name as Elvy J. I notice that the transcriber has given her name as Jane. A family genealogy posting this list has added the full name, with the middle name as Jean.
