While this census reports Ike (Isaac) born in December 1853, at least two family genealogies report he was born 11 May 1856, a great discrepancy. Neither genealogy says where it got that date. One would assume it came from family sources. But you will see that Ike's age in 1910 matches that reported in 1900.

This source reports that James' son Isaac died in France, but does not report the date. Thjis seems to be an error. The location in France does not seem to fit with other information we have about Ike. He would have been about 66 when he died. I have found no information explaining why he would have been in France. This was two years after the end of WWI.

Another genealogy reports a reasonable date of death in 1934 and in the right locaiotn. This source further cites a ocal newspaper on the death.

The June 11, 1934 edition of The Forney Messenger commented on Ike's death.
"Deceased was a man everyone respected and his death has cast sorrow over the home community. He always stood for the right and was held in the highest of esteem by all who knew him. He had made this section his home practically all his life."

The enumerator got confused somehow. The birthplace of parents for the children does not match the birthplace reported for the parents. Also, as in his brother Thomas' census record for 1910, Ike's father is reported as born in Missouri, while other sources report him born in Tennessee.
