- A descendant gave me the name of Nancy Watson for the wife Ambrose married in 1845. The name in the 1850 census is Lavina. I got the following information in several exchanges with the informant.
The marriage record:
"MARRIED- At Pleasant Hill Church ... by the Rev. J. C. Green ... on the 29th ... Mr Ambrose Green to Miss Nancy Watson, eldest daughter of Capt. Thomas Watson. The year was 1845, location Greenville, Greenville Co., SC."
Confirming details:
"Yes it is Nancy Watson that is Ambrose Green's wife. The year date was 29 Jun 1845."
