- One anonymous genealogy gives her full name as Melissa Elizabeth Teter. This genealogy has little information and a different birth date, so the name may refer to a different person, even though the genealogy gives this name for the daughter of Isaac Teter and Susannah Greene.
Elizabeth Teter was first married to William J A Watkins (Wadkins). After his death she married James Henry Tate, in about 1866. It appears that Henry, although about 40 years old at that time, had not been married before. I have found no record of a marriage or children before J H married Elizabeth Teter. James Henry Tate and Elizabeth Teter Watkins they also had 4 children, whom I show in this genealogy. They lived in Parker County, Texas.
Elizabeth and Henry are recorded with her Watkins children in the 1870 census for Parker County, west of Ft Worth.

Wanda Cox, a descendant and researcher on the Tate and Teter lines, provided me with earliy information on Elizabeth's family. Wanda gave me the name of only Elizabeth's father, Isaac Teter. Isaac is listed in the Parker County History Book.
