Jerry had found the 1860 census reporting James and his family.

In 1860, James and his family are living in Maurice Township of Arkansas County.  Note that their post office is McAdams Long POint.  I find it interesting that the post office for the 5 families on the next page (one of which is split on this page also) is reported as DeWitt.

1860 Federal Census, Arkansas County, Arkansas, 23 June, PO McAdams Long Point, page 214, Hse/Fam #162
    James F Evans 28 M Farmer $800 Real Estate $300 Personal Tennessee [abt 1832]

    Nancy I Evans 4 F b Arkansas [abt 1856]
    William M Evans 2 M b Arkansas [abt 1858]

Living next door is a household headed by a Margarett Evans, age 542, who appears to be James' widowed mother.

1860 Federal Census, Arkansas County, Arkansas, 23 June, PO McAdams Long Point, page 214, Hse/Fam #162
    Margarett Evans 52 F Farming & Stock Raising b Kentucky [abt 1808]
    Amanda Evans 17 F Domestic b Tennessee [abt 1843]

    John J Baryard (?) 33 M Farm Laborer b Alabama

In 1870, James has died and his wife Sarah is the head of household.  See Sarah Ann Henderson.  I have no exact date of death for James, but we can say it was before 1870.
