    Obituary of James Edward Hembree's

    Funeral services for James Edward Hembree will be held Saturday afternoon [10 June 1955] at 3 o'clock with the Rev. W.S. Lindsay of Ardmore officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. Rose Zella Criner of the Marietta Assembly of God Church. The place of the service had not been decided upon Thursday afternoon. Mr. Hembree died Wednesday night [7 June 1955] at his home at Oswalt following a lengthy illness.

    He was born June 16, 1877 in Mississippi and on June 16, 1905 he was married to Miss Willie White. They were the parents of 11 children, 10 whom survive.

    Mr. Hembree had lived in the Oswalt community for many years and was a well known Love County Farmer.

    Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Hembree of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Phillips of Santa Paula Calif. Mrs. Vida Jackson of Oswalt, Mrs. Hettie Nelson of Popular, Calif. and Mrs. Laura Grubbs of Ft. Worth ; six sons Lonnie, William, George, James l, J.W., and Odie Hembree of Oswalt, and one brother Wright Hembree of McCory, Arkansas, 17 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and 3 nieces.

    Goodrich Funeral home is in charge of arrangements and the following have been asked to serve as Pall Bearers; Charlie and Ocie Tucker, Byrd Johnson, Edgar Wilson, Elvin and J.M. Jackson.

    Mr. Hembree died Wednesday night [7 Sept. 1955] at his home at Oswalt following a lengthy illness.
