It is reported that Frances has borne 4 children and all of them are living.  The name of the fourth one appears to be Desiax, but is written Dessix in the 1910 census, and Dessie in 1900.  It is Desiax on his WWI registration card, both in the name and in his signature.  Some genealogies have perceived the name as Dorsey or Dorsie (probably from the way it is written in the 1900 census, where it appears to be Dessie).

The marriage report is different from 1900 to 1910.  Their first child Herman was reported born in August 1885 and they were reported married for 16 years, making it about 1884 when they married.  In 1910, however, they are reported married for 23 years, making it about 1887, the year Herman was reported born.  This is consistent with the report by Frances' and Edmond's granddaughter that Herman was the son of Frances' first husband, named Johnson, who died by gunshot.  Herman always went by his stepfather's name.

The 16 years (marriage in 1884) would be the date of the first marriage to Mr Johnson, Herman's father, and hte enumerator mistakenly put that for Edmond as well.

    Francis Briscoe

I'm looking for information on Francis M Briscoe and came across the Source Citation for the 1910 Federal Census, Tillman County, OK in your tree where there's a transcript that states she was married to Edmond W Briscoe but says he's her 2nd husband.  I believe, from what I have heard, this is true.  Although I cannot find anything anywhere else to prove it.  No prior marriage license, newspaper articles, death certificate.

I heard from my mom, who would have been her granddaughter, that her first husband was shot.  Interesting, but I can't find anything on that and really not much on her.  I know that marriage produced a son, Herman, who went by Briscoe (1881-1915).  I have proof the last name was Johnson from a list of deaths in my grandfather wrote in his Bible.  My grandfather was James Lester Briscoe (1892-1972) from her 2nd marriage.
