In notes and corrections on the 1900 census record for James and hisfamily, the following comments were made by other researchers.  JenGareth provides James' middle name and gives us the correct spellingsof the children's names, correcting the enumerator's entries.

James Alexander Gray rather than James A Gray (Added a variation ofthe recorded data)
    --  JenGaret, Ancestry Comment, 19 December 2011

James A Gray's spouse was Jennie Gray, not Jessie. His son's nameswere Earl and Wesley, not Westley. His daughter's name was Mabel, notHazel.
    --  JenGaret, Ancestry Comment, 23 December 2008

Hazel was born in 1900 and died before 1910. Mabel was born in 1914
    --  LyndasCa, Ancestry Comment, 24 December 2011

The comment on Hazel is correct only in the fact that James did have adaughter named Mabel.  But Mabel was not born un til 1914, so thisHazel reported in the 1900 census was not his daughter Hazel, as JenGaret thought.  Lyndas provides clarification of the daughter namedHazel.

The 1910 census also informs us that besides Hazel, they have lost twoother chidlren, born and died between the censuses.  Our of 5 childrenborne by Jennie, only the two boys Earl and Wesley remain, until Mabelis born in 1914.
