The length of time married is confusing here.  We know Mary and Walterdid not marry until 25 Feb 1900.

The birth state of the two Merryman children's mother has beenoverwritten.  It is difficult to tell which state was written first.I note that the birth state of the mother of Walter's daughter ZadoMerryman, in the household next door, was reported as Texas.  It wouldappear that they all had the same mother.  So I believe the birthstate of Lula Poteet was Texas.

Walter's daughter (Lula) Izora is in the household next door.  Herbirth date is reported as January 1900.  This means her mother musthave died in childbirth.  This was later confirmed by information onthe family's 1899 Choctaw card above, where notes indicate the samedate of birth for Izora and death for Lula, 18 Jan 1900.  Waltermarried Mary Merryman on 25 February 1900.

The household next door appears to be Walter's parents.  But hisdaughter Izora is in their household and is reported as a niece.  Thismust be an enumerator error.  The ages would match Walter's parents.David is 20 years older than him.  Genealogies report Walter's parentswith these names.

A grave marker matches somewhat in Latimer County, Oklahoma.  But thedate of death is 1904, so it was still Choctaw Nation at that time.Mary Reed had two additional children born after his death whoreported with the surname of Merryman in the 1920 census, as well asone surnamed Reed.
