Re earlier reigstration under form Robinson
    Husband John Robertson

    ------------------------------
    Virginia, Montgomery County Sct.

This day, Mrs Elizabeth Robertson widow of John Robertson deceased, personally appeared before me, and upon her oath made the following declaration as a supplement to the one made by her before the county court of our county on the 3rd day of February 1840. She states that she believes that the name of her late husband, and that of herself has been frequently spelt Robinson and at the time her first declaration was prepared, she did not pay any attention to the spellings and left that matter entirely to the individuals who prepared her declaration, that she is unlearned and did not know how the name had been spelt. She again repeats that she is the widow of John Robertson deceased, who was an applicant for pension under the act of the 18th March 1818, and that she is the same individual referred to in the affidavits of Philip Hagonder and John Marale.

    ------------------------------

In 1850, Elizabeth was enumerated in the household of what appears to be her parents-in-law.  Her daughter Judith is with her.  I have not determined which one of George and Susannah's sons was Elizabeth's husband.  George and Susannah were buried in Double Island Cemetery, Yancey County, North Carolina, where Judith's husband was buried.

It may be that this Elizabeth is George and Susannah's own daughter, since they also had a daughter named Elizabeth born about the same time.  But Judith would be their granddaughter.  They also had a daughter named Judith (Judea, or Juda) but she was born about 1809.  Most Robertson genealogies have incomplete information on most of George and Susannah's children.  There are also many duplications and confusions of other kinds.

Judith's mother Elizabeth is enumerated as a member of her daughter's household in the 1860 census.  This entry also provides the correct spelling form of the family name.  In various genealogies the family name is spelled Roberson, Robertson and Robinson.  These variations occur in various censuses.  In 1850, her age would make her birth in about 1815.  But in 1860 it would be 1810 or 1811.

However, later censuses of Judith and her husband James Hall report Elizabeth living with them, so her mother was named Elizabeth and would have had the married name Elizabeth Robertson, whether this is the correct Elizabeth Robertson in the 1850 census or not.  But being with Judith, this Elizabeth seems most likely to be the widowed daughter-in-law of George and Susannah.  In the mixed and incomplete information in the various Robertson genealogies and other sources, I have not been able to resolve which son that might be.
