Note that James and Oliver are reported to have died on the same date and place.  This is suspicious.  I also found at least one other genealogy that has records for James M Green attached to Oliver D, which seems even more suspicious.  The reported death date and place here are the same as the Civil War record for James M Green below.  There is a second Civil War record below for Oliver Green with a different death date.  The actual image of the record has not been found, nor a matching burial record.

This name appears in the 1850 census for this family as D O Green.

Kati Jackson Cain found a military record for Oliver.

"Oliver D Green, 55th Reg of GA militia, was captured in the Cumberland Gap in Sep 1863 or 4 & was sent to Camp Douglas in Illinois.  He died a couple months later from measles and was buried in a Chicago city cemetery.  I only found CSA records, but I'd love to find Union records on POWs to see what information, if any, they had for him.  One of the older brothers also had records, Thomas Benton Green, I think, but he was in a different regiment & survived the war."
