Notes
- The last name is found spelled three different ways in the sources and genealogies: Chapel, Chappel, Chappell. The name occurs with the standard spelling like the word Chapel in some sources among Jenkins family members. So I have followed that spelling. I found a fourth spelling in the death certificate of Archie and Mary's son Jeremiah (Jerry), where it appears as Chapil. The certificate is also signed by the informant, Jerry's son Abe, using the same spelling for his own last name.

Archie died some time after the birth of their third son Jeremiah in 1861 and before Mary remarried in May 1864. Several genealogies appear to have copied each other to report the death date as July 1864, but I have not found one yet that has a record, or even a comment that thte date coems form family sources. No death record has been found.
