William G's birth place should have been Texas, according to family information provided to me by Elisa J Strange-Von Rice.  Note also that now Other has the middle initial of A and is reported now as a son and male.

The name of the daughter before William G here seems to be Annis, but that seems oddly close to Annie.  One genealogy reports her name as Ammie Jane.  This is closer to the 1900 census which had Ama.

Family information reports Willam was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, after the family arrived there in 1906.  But he is reported here as born in Alabama, and only his younger brother as born in Texas.

... William Berry Strange, d: Alabama 1906 then through his son, Samuel Lurs Strange, steamboat pilot on the Tenn. River before moving to Wichita Co, Texas in 1906.
    ...
My father Bert William Garland Strange b: 6-03-1906 in Wichita Co, Texas was the 6th child born to Samuel L. And wife Samantha Gabriel Nixon-Strange and the first child born to them in Texas.

Samantha was the daughter of John B. Nixon  b: Georgia, moved to Alabama and married Hincy Childress daughter of Isaac Childress a Methodist minister in Dekalb Co., Al.  John b. Nixon and son John B. Nixon, Jr and William Berry Strange were all Baptist ministers.......

Bert William Garland Strange was a veterinarian for the King Ranches in his young years in Texas, then went into private practice.

In WWII he was a building contractor, building the barracks and hangers for Edwards A.F.B. In Calif.

When that was finished, in 9-1945 relocated to Casa Grande, Arizona and began building house after house, street after street of houses for soldiers coming home with no place to live.  In 1951 he also ventured into the custom farming operation and had state wide hauling permits in Arizona and Colorado where his men cut grain in the valleys of Arizona and the grain growing counties of Colorado.

By chance in 1958 he went on vacation to Oklahoma to visit a friend and fell in love with a registered running quarterhorse ranch.  Which he bought.

Returning to Arizona he retired from building contracting and moved to his ranch in Shawnee, Oklahoma.  There he began breeding, training, & racing his horses at Louisiana Downs, Ruidoso N.M. And Turf Paradise in Phoenix, plus many other horse racing tracks.

He also went back to his veterinarian past and was even offered a teaching job at the veterinarian college at Stillwater, OK.
