In the 1900 census, her birth date is reported as Aug 1877.  Most of the censuses report an age that would make her birth year 1879 or 1879.  The 1940 census her age of 62 would make her birth in 1878.

In 1930, I found her living with her daughter Verta in the household of an L C Tipper and his wife Hattie in Marietta, Love County, Oklahoma.  Her relationship is reported as aunt of L C Tipper.  He would seem, then, to be a son of her brother.  But L C could also be the son of Carrie's sister who married a Tipper.  Her daughter Verta is reported as a cousin of L C, matching her mother's relationship.

In 1940 Carrie and her daughter are still living in the same house.  Carrie is working as a cook and dishwasher in a cafe.  No occupation is reported for Verda.

Their entry and the next family, a 54-year-old man and his wife named Hawthorne, have lines through them like they were entered in error.  Then we find them on the last page of this census, where for some reason they were moved.
