- In the first census that gives her name, Mary is the widowed head of household.

The Hamrick record of this family in the Hamrick Data Pages, page 75, records three children, Asa, Lucinda and Samuel O. We are told that Lucinda married Zechariah R McKinney. It appears from the marriage information that this Lucinda and Zechariah in the census are married. It seems likely that this should have been Zechariah and Lucinda McKinney, but it is not certain.
In 1880 Mary is reported living in the household of her son Asa.

Vonnie Cantreel placed a memorial on Mary's page to honor her parents: But neither of them is named McSwain. I think they made an error and put her first married name as her middle name.
Honoring the daughter of Asa Lovelace (1785 - 1846) and Susannah Hardin (1790 - 1868)
