In 1900, Sam and Mamie (Mayme) are living in Watertown, New York with his sister Hattie and her husband Oscar Lewis.  Their 1-year-old son Evert (Everett) is reports as born in Missouri in January 1899.

Note the change in reported birthplace of Samuel's parents in the 1910 census.  In 1900 the records for him and his sister Hattie are the same, father born in Kentucky, mother born in Tennessee. In 1910, both Sam's parents are reported born in Pennsylvania.

Also Everett was reported born in Missouri, but in 1910 he is reported born in Nebraska, where they are now living.  It seems Missouri is the most likely place of birth for Everett.  They married in Missouri, then were living in New York in 1900, then moved to Nebraska, where Russ was born.

The 1920 census provides us another creative report on the birthplaces of Sam's parents, with the father and mother now both reported born in Missouri as Sam was.  In fact it appears he thought the whole family looked like Missourians, except Harold, who is reported as born in Nebraska.  I don't know why the enumerator would have understood Mary Pat's name as Sarah.

In this 1930 census, the birthplace of Mary's mother changes from Canada to New York.

Samuel's joint gravestone with his wife Mary Patricia is posted online at Find A Grave.  But the person posting this has the wrong place of death.  The obituary she has included reports he died at Lenaxa (Johnson County), Kansas, where he was living at the time of death.  Mary later died in Mission, Kansas.  They were both buried in Leopolis Cemetery in Livingston County, Missouri, near Chillicothe, where they had lived for many years.
