  Some genealogies report that the same Pierre Perthuis married both Angelique Caron and Catherine Maillet (or Malet).  But the compilation of parish church records indicates two different men named Pierre Perthuis married each of these.  The men's birth dates are different in the various records.  Some genealogies reflect this.
  
  The records report only one child being born to Pierre b 1691 and his wife Angélique Caron, Pierre born 2 August 1715.  There is no record of this father Pierre marrying again in Montréal.

  Where he died is not certain.  He may have moved south like his brother Pierre dit Lalime.  But the may have remained in Montréal.  There are some records related to one or more indivdiuals named Pierre Pertuis/Perthuis who are not clearly identified as to connection with this lineage.
  
  Another record in the compiled reports says one Pierre Perthuis married a Catherine Malet (also spelled Mallet and Maillet in other records and references).  This Pierre is reported born in 1686, the son of the same Pierre Perthuis who was the father of Pierre who married Angélique Caron.  Are you confused yet?
  
  Many genealogies report the same Pierre as the husband of both Angélique and Catherine.  But the two different birth dates in the records seem to say these are two different men named Pierre Perthuis.  The format of the record compilation is somewhat confusing, and this may account for the discrepancies found in the varous genealogies.
  
  From the limited information provided with the generational connections provided in the record compilation, it appears that the mother of both these sons named Pierre was Claude Damizé (1650-1705).

  A discussion on this family in Genealogy.com provides some help understanding the configuration and duplicate names of children.
  
  One descendant posted some information in 2001 and a genealogist responded in 2007 with some fill-in data on wives of Pierre born 1644.

  2 Pierres, sons of Pierre Perthuis & Claude Damise
  
  From several different sources I have obtained the list of Pierre and Claude's children.
  
  Their 10th child was Pierre, b. 16 Apr 1686.
  Their 12th child was Pierre, b. 19 May 1691.
  
  One of these Pierres died in 1708 in Deerfield, MA. The other married Catherine Maillet in 1713. One of them had a child out of wedlock, Pierre, b. 16 Feb 1709 Longueuil, who died 18 Feb. 1709 Montreal. The mother was Marie Angelique Bouteiller, dau. of Andre & Angelique Chapacou.
  
  Obviously the one who died in 1708 could not have married Catherine Maillet in 1713 although it is possible he could have sired the child by Marie Angelique Bouteiller.
  
  My problem is I have records I have seen [that] show both Pierres married to Catherine, although I believe all the records showing a death in 1708 indicate this Pierre was the one b. 1686. I am descended from the one who married Catherine Maillet and would like to know which one that is. Can anyone help?

  Another genealogy reports that the same Pierre Perthuis married both Angélique Caron and Cathernie Maillet, and that Pierre's birth date is reported here as 1691.  Birth and marriage records from the basilica of Notre Dame in Montréal, Québec, however, report Catherine was married in 1716 to Pierre Perthuis born in 1886.  Marriage records report that Pierre born in 1691 married Angélique Caron in 1713.
