Julia's name in the actual entry is Juliar.  The enumerator haswritten the dialectic local pronunciation, which commonly adds anending R to names ending in a vowel (common examples are Ader for Ada& Eller for Ella).  The wife in the house just above them is, in fact, also reported as Juliar.  This is Julia Elizabeth Ward, who latermarried John Cullen Jenkins, my grandfather's brother.  The Ancestrysloppy transcription has Julian, a male name,

Until May 2016, when the 1860 census was discovered, the first censusrecord I had for Julia Ward Jenkins was 1870, in the Cussetta area ofCass County, renamed for a period as Davis County, Texas.   She is 12years old here, in her widowed mother's household.

In 1910, it appears that Julia is living with her son J Stewart andhis wife Irene.  But the name is recorded as Jane E, not Julia E.

There is also a problem with the age of this Jane E, being 48,consistent with early censuses.  But in 1900 she is reported as 43 andonly 58 in 1930 (when we would expect her to be 68)!  But anothererror in this report seems to confirm that this Jane E is Stewart'smother Julia.  Jane E's birth state is reported as Alabama, the sameas the birthplace of Stewart's mother.  These are consistent, althoughpreviously Julia E Ward is reported as having been born in Georgia.Georgia is also the birth place reported on her death certificate.

In 1930 she is living with her son Ebb.
