Notes

  • A descendant has given some information from family tradition about Charles S Gibson:

I have recently learned of a family history that states that Sarah Morgan's husband, Charles S. Gibson was half Cherokee.  The family information that has been shared with me was testimony from (his son) John Marion Gibson's youngest daughter, who claimed her g-grandmother Gibson was a full blood Cherokee.  She was specific about names, both white and Indian, of parents, siblings, etc.  ...  We have no information that Charles tried to claim any Indian rights.  And unfortunately, the family history does not include any dates or locations.
